Auto Mechanics Clean Your Work Place

by Linda Meckler

If you walk into a garage that fixes cars and find car parts, boxes, papers strewn all around, what do you think? When the place looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a year and grease and oil is everywhere, what do you think? Do you think if this place is so filthy, dirty and unorganized what kind of repair job am I going to get?

When a woman chooses a specific garage to fix her car, usually this garage had been referred to her by a friend. Women need to feel they are not getting ripped off when they present their car for an appraisal of what the heck is wrong with it now?

When you walk into a business any business your first impression of the building inside and out will make a lasting impression on you. I think a sloppy, dirty work area bothers women much more then it does men. Why I haven't the slightest idea. Men are the ones that usually work in these places. They spend half their lives in the work place. Why can't they at least keep it neat and clean? With the cost of car repairs, they can afford to have a cleaning crew come in once a week.

I literally cringe when I have to walk into the office of a garage. It's usually ugly, dirty and smells like grease. I don't think any mechanic has ever heard of a cheerful coat of paint.

It is men who make up most of the car mechanics, if they would keep their garage/office clean and organized the woman would flock. It would be nice if they could stock magazines a woman would want to read while she is waiting for her car to be fixed. The bill is another point. They definitely need to keep a large supply of smelling salt on hand.
